I'm happy!

This bassinet keeps surprising me with how versatile it is! It checked all my boxes for a dream bassinet: lightweight, easy to roll over carpet, a canopy with a screen that is removable, adjustable height and cosleeper friendly! I didn't realize the side panel was removable for easy access when I first purchased it and I was so pleasantly surprised to see that feature in person. It also has ample room for storage underneath, making a quick diaper change in the middle of the night so much more convenient.

reviews for new parents : Bassinet vs pack and play and recommended age

OK, just to set the record straight first, this is not just the travel bassinet, this is a full-size bassinet but it's portable, and simple to unfold and take along. The footprint when folded is rather large but relatively thin. You can tuck it in behind the first-row seat in the vehicle and lean it against the driver's seat to take along. If traveling with the airline, taking along would be difficult and in that case, I'd recommend standard pack-n-play instead, due to the smaller footprint and ease of check-in as luggage. BTW, most airlines will check in baby items for free of charge, including pack n plays. They might accept this basinet but there is no carrying case included and I don't believe it would survive luggage handlers or conveyor belts due to no protection. However, if visiting family nearby, this bassinet is perfect as it provides a baby with a safe and familiar place to sleep and rest. If the baby gets overwhelmed with all the new faces, being in a space she recognizes can also deliver calming effect so definitely bring this bad boy along.

It features adjustable height so you can line it up with your bed, and you can secure it to the bed so it doesn't move. One side is collapsible to free up space between your bedside and the baby via zipper. It's designed so it doesn't open all away down making it less likely for the baby to roll over and fall out of it in the event bassinet somehow moves and is not properly aligned with your bed. All sides are mesh so you can see your little treasure. The Mesh canopy is super helpful for outdoor activities and will protect the baby from any insects. Wheels roll smoothly and make it easy to move the bassinet from one room to another.

What makes this item better than pack and play is the ability to co-sleep with your baby without actually having the baby in your bed and worrying about the safety. Also, nursing during the night is made easier as the mom can roll over on the side and serve the baby with the breast. Mom and baby would need to face each other and be close for this operation to be possible and comfortable. I never mastered this skill lol

Other than those benefits, Pack n plays are so much better. They last longer (9ish months), are easier to take along or travel with and offer more features. I won't get too much into details but this bassinet can only last for the first few months of a baby's life. Listing states it's suitable from newborn to 9 months (or 33 lb) but as soon as the baby can roll over and push itself up on its arms, which depends on the baby's development but usually occurs at about 5ish months, basinet is no longer safe. This is because the baby could pull itself over the fence.

I think this bassinet is very well made and excellent for parents who want to co-sleep or easily nurse during the night.

Perfect!

This is exactly what I'd been looking for! The last bedside sleeper I ordered wouldn't go tall enough to be level (Or even close to level) with my mattress, which kind of defeated the whole purpose of a co-sleeper type bassinet if the baby is going to be so far away. This one works so much better! It's quite adjustable and can work with lower or higher beds. You can crank it up on both sides or you can do just one side if you want the head slightly elevated during bottle feedings. The storage basket underneath is a huge plus as well. It can also be used as a stand alone bassinet and rolled from room to room easily if you need that flexibility. I'm super happy with it and wouldn't change a thing!

Baby Bassinet on Castors

Not only is this a very sturdy bassinet, it's also on wheels! Wow! This is such a convenience to have in the bedroom right by our bed. It wasn't bad to assemble and it looks nice as well. I think it's a bit pricey but for the sturdy, quality piece of equipment that this is, it's totally worth it! I also have a bit of storage beneath the bassinet which is helpful too for diapers and blankets. It's nerve wracking when you bring a little one home for the first time. No need to worry about where they will sleep for those first months in their new home. This is something any new parent would love. It makes a great gift too!
